Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.
An important political figure said the incident left him without words and had to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
